We aim to assist in relieving sickness and preserving the health of people suffering from Melanoma and other forms of skin cancer.
Continuing Liz’s story through positive action.
From her initial diagnosis in 2013, Liz faced her disease with a fierce determination. Exploring every avenue, Liz lived with melanoma for almost seven years and her story was the inspiration for the charity that bears her name.
How we support research
Melanoma is a disease that is well known by the public but poorly understood, particularly in how its outcomes can quickly become catastrophic and terminal when it spreads to the brain. The Liz Binns Melanoma Charitable Trust is particulalry interested in research in this field.
The Liz Binns Melanoma Charitable Trust
The Liz Binns Melanoma Charitable Trust was set up by Liz’s family in 2021 with the aim of helping to relieve sickness and preserve the health of people suffering from melanoma and other forms of skin cancer in particular, but not exclusively, through assisting in the provision of grant funding for research into the diagnosis and treatment of melanoma.
“The effects of melanoma metastases in the brain are often devastating at the human level, causing sensory, motor, cognitive and behavioural changes, with a major impact on patients and their families. It is an area of acute unmet clinical need.”
